Principal's Message
Rocky View Schools believe in the importance of engaging “all learners through meaningful and challenging experiences, preparing them to understand, adapt and contribute to our changing global community".
The 21st century School:
-
will be a learning culture where all members, students, staff and parents, form and contribute to a community of learners
-
will use technologies in a collaborative, inquiry-based learning environment with learners who are willing and able to use the power of technology to assist them in transforming knowledge and skills into products, solutions and new information
To succeed in our global community, the 21st Century Learner must become:
-
a critical thinker
-
a problem solver
-
an innovator
-
a communicator
-
a collaborator
-
globally aware
-
civically and community engaged
-
a self-directed learner
-
literate in information technology and the media
-
financially and economically literate
I am confident that you will enjoy the Westbrook experience. Westbrook School is truly a community of learners. Our goal is to “inspire a love of learning and service, engaging learners for life”. Come and join us as we again sponsor Walk-a-thon, Artists in Residence, School Fair, swimming and ski activities, the Grandparents and Mentor programs, our teepee–raising, Outdoor School and a host of other activities.
Our “small school atmosphere” is certainly an important part of our success. Staff and parents working together continue to help tp provide the best 21st century learning environment for our students.
Learning is a lifelong adventure. The challenge is in the journey. The journey begins here.
