At A. E. BOWERS everyone needs to cooperate to ensure that the rights of all individuals are maintained. All students can expect to learn in an environment free from interruption or disturbance. To this end we will take responsibility for teaching our students our specific expectations for behavior that will ensure the opportunity to gain from the academic, social and athletic experiences that our school has to offer. 

Our students are expected to assume the responsibilities below:
 1. Be Considerate
- Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
- Be friendly and use manners.
- Never hurt or bully another person.
- Listen to others.

2. Be Respectful
- Know and follow the rules.
- Care for school property and the environment.
- Use socially appropriate language.

3. Be Safe
- Do not harm others or yourself.
- Participate in sport and play that do not involve body contact or cause injury.
- Don't bring unsafe items to school.
- Avoid and report unsafe areas.
- Walk in the school.
- Use equipment as intended.
- Don't leave the school grounds during recesses without permission.
- Be traffic safe.

Student Expectations:
 1. To be the best you can be.
We are proud of the effort our students put into their school work. Your support in encouraging your child to set personal goals for learning and to strive to reach and surpass those goals is invaluable.

2. Respect and appreciate others.
An ongoing goal at our school focuses on encouraging our students to show respect for themselves, each other and to engage in responsible decision making.  We encourage our students to show courtesy, consideration, common sense and curiosity.

3. Peace on the playground. 
Students who find themselves in disagreement with another student or students on the playground are expected to use peaceful problem solving strategies. At A.E. BOWERS we follow Alligator AL'S Secret Formula to help students deal with their problems.
